Win Zero Support
Need a hand? Here's how Win Zero works, and fixes for the most common questions. If you're still stuck, email e7urgent@gmail.com.
If you need support with drinking, drugs or your mental health: the SAMHSA National Helpline is free, confidential and open 24/7 in the US: 1-800-662-4357. The number is also under Settings → Need support? in the app.
How check-ins work
- Each evening at your check-in time (8:00 PM unless you change it), Win Zero asks whether you stuck to your goal today.
- If you haven't answered by your reminder time, one more reminder comes (9:00 AM the next morning unless you change it). It can be any time of day: set it later than your check-in time, for example after a night shift, and it comes later that same day. Set it to your check-in time and you get one notification a day.
- There's no rush: you can answer until midnight the next day. Use the notification's buttons, or open the app. If yesterday's check-in is still open when today's arrives, the app asks about yesterday first.
- A Yes from the notification opens the app with your round ready. Play it whenever you like.
Yes, Not today, and missed days
- Yes adds a zero to your streak, and you play a round with that many zeros.
- Not today costs one zero, not your whole run.
- Missed days: the first 7 in a row cost nothing. After that, each missed day costs a zero.
- The seventh slip: after 7 slips since your last Yes, your streak starts over, unless a shield steps in to save it.
- Your best run, your weapons and your bombs are never taken away.
Weapons, bombs and shields
- Weapons unlock as your best run grows: Twin Barrel at 3 days, Scatter Gun at 7, Rocket at 14, Chain Zapper at 30, Rail Laser at 60 and Zero Nuke at 100. Tap the weapon button during a round to switch.
- Bombs: you earn one each time your streak reaches a multiple of 5. Use them in a round to clear a crowd of zeros.
- Shields: you earn one each time your streak reaches a multiple of 7, and can hold up to 3.
Reminders don't arrive
- Check that notifications are on for Win Zero, in your phone's settings. Settings in Win Zero shows whether they're on, and links you there.
- Check Focus or Do Not Disturb. These can hide reminders.
- On Android, reminders can arrive a few minutes late. Android groups alarms to save battery. If they're much later than that, turn off battery optimization for Win Zero.
- After a long break, daily reminders pause. Win Zero sends one gentle reminder a week instead (you can turn that off in Settings). Answering any check-in turns daily reminders back on.
Changing your goal or times
Open Settings to change the goal's wording or your check-in and morning times. Your streak and history stay the same.
Accessibility
Win Zero works with VoiceOver and TalkBack. The round is visual, so with a screen reader on, the round shows a Finish round button (on iPhone, a two-finger double-tap does the same). The app follows your phone's text size and Reduce Motion settings.
Privacy
Everything stays on your phone. There's no account, and Win Zero collects no data. Read the privacy policy.
Playing on the web
You can also play Win Zero in your browser at winzero.app/play.
- Your progress stays in that browser. It doesn't sync with the app or with other browsers.
- The website can't send reminders. Open it at your check-in time, or use the app for reminders.
- Clearing your browser's data for winzero.app erases your progress. Safari can also clear it after 7 days without a visit. Adding Win Zero to your Home Screen keeps it.
- Demo mode (under Demo controls on Home) lets you move the clock, jump to any day and play practice rounds on a copy of your progress. Your real streak isn't touched, and leaving demo mode takes you back to it.
Starting over
Settings → Erase all data deletes your goal, history and rewards from your phone. This can't be undone.
